About Our Project

The implementation phase of our project on combating food waste under the Erasmus+ programme was successfully completed with the participation of 5 partner countries (Portugal, Iceland, Croatia, Turkey and Czechia). Our project aims to address this global problem with its environmental, economic and social dimensions by drawing attention to the fact that 1.3 billion tonnes of food is wasted worldwide every year.

During the project, 40 participants came together and carried out awareness raising activities, trainings and practical applications to reduce food waste. The events addressed in detail how food waste occurs at every stage from production to consumption and the resulting impacts such as environmental problems, economic losses and global hunger.

Participants developed concrete solutions through activities such as preparing a guide to prevent food waste at home. In addition, participants participated in dissemination activities with local communities as part of public awareness activities. These events attracted great interest among the local community and created significant awareness.

Participants also gained multifaceted gains individually. They had the opportunity to get to know different cultures and overcome their prejudices while improving their communication, teamwork and digital skills. The project inspired participants to adopt sustainable habits and encouraged them to become more conscious global citizens.

The impact of our project will last not only for the period of its completion, but also for years to come. Participants continue their mission to inspire a wider audience by transferring what they have learnt to their own communities. Work continues to ensure that the outputs and message of our project reach a wider audience.

Together, let's continue to work for a world that knows the value of food and where no food goes to waste by combining our efforts and producing innovative solutions!
